My project group and I developed the concept ARC, which is a software that makes it possible for a customer on an online web shop to try on clothes virtually before purchasing the items. The software uses AR (augmented reality) to allow the user to virtually try on clothes by using the ARC app on their phone.

The software can help online clothing stores reduce the number of returned items. This reduction will provide a better experience for the customer, reduce the company's expenses related to returned items, as well as reduce their CO2 emissions related to the transport of items.

The concept was developed by using a user-centered approach. User interviews allowed us to identify the perceived challenges related to returning clothes purchased online. Continuous user involvement allowed for further research, user testing, and user feedback throughout the process. Additionally, the development of the concept also included continuous collaboration with various software developers and online clothing retailers, who validated the interest in the project.
